What are The best Things to do in Hong Kong?
In a recent blog post, Dim Sum covered Oktoberfest 2013 at Sheraton Macao Hotel, Cotai Central. Dim Sum a website that serves as a resource for Hong Kong residents and visitors, and refers to this as the most authentic Oktoberfest celebration this side of the Rhine.
Sheraton Macao Hotel, Cotai Central is the flagship Sheraton hotel that combines a customary Sheraton experience with an Asian vacation. The hotel is located on the Macau peninsula, a former Portuguese colony, located on the western side of the Pearl River Delta across from Hong Kong.
As Dim Sum reports, the hotel is kicking off its Oktoberfest celebration on October 10 to run through October 20, 2013. The authentic celebration will include festivities, feasts, games and music to transport guests to Munich in spirit under a traditional Festhalle tent alongside the hotel's Jaya Pool. Toni's Beerband led by Anton Hammerer will fly in from Germany to play the event.
The hotel is also flying in Chef Sven Roffmann from Sheraton Munich Arabellapark to cook an authentic Bavarian feast for guests, complete with bratwursts, pork knuckles and hand-rolled pretzels, along with Paulaner beer brewed in Munich and imported to Macau for the event.
Dim Sum recommends Hong Kong residents make a weekend feast of the event by booking the Sheraton Oktoberfest Package. This package includes accommodations for 2 in a Deluxe Room, afternoon tea for tea at Palms, two Oktoberfest entrance tickets with a $200HK food and beverage voucher and one-way CotaiJet tickets for two. The package costs $1,438HK.
Sheraton Macao Hotel also offers tickets to the Oktoberfest celebration, which cost MOP 100 at the door.
As Macau is located just across the Delta from Hong Kong, residents can simply take the ferry to celebrate Oktoberfest in style. Reservations may be made through sheratonmacao.
