Tips for Using Wedding Sparklers as Your Favors

Wedding sparklers have become a major trend over the last five years and more couples than ever have taken to using sparklers for weddings during their send-off or incorporating them into their photography. If you're thinking about using wedding sparklers during your actual ceremony, one of the most creative ways to do this is using the sparklers as your favors. You can include fun, personalized matchbooks and then allow guests to take home a sweet reminder of your big day while still participating in making your day special. Some people even use sparklers as a centerpiece, or add bottle sparklers to transform servers into mobile centerpieces for an even bigger show.

Assembling Your Favors
So, how do you even transform a bundle of sparklers into a cute favor? The easiest way is making a bouquet of three or four sparklers held together with a colorful, wide ribbon that matches your wedding colors. Once the ribbon is tied, add a very small dot of hot glue and pop on one of your personalized matchbooks with your names and wedding date. You can then add a favor to each place setting and guests will have them ready to use for your send-off.

If you want to step it up a notch, think about buying premium heart-shaped wedding sparklers and holding them together with twine. Attach a personalized tag with your names and a cute phrase like "Let Sparks Fly."

You'll be amazed at how many compliments you receive when you hand out these awesome favors and the majority of your guests will happily use them to celebrate your wedding.

Get Creative!
To make your wedding favors unique and personal, add a bit of creative flair to the tags. You may decide to use pretty paper tags with slits cut into them to slide over the sparklers with something like, "Ignite the love. Add some spark to COUPLE's first kiss as husband and wife," or "Let the love sparkle" with your wedding date. You could also use the tags to inform guests when the send-off will occur, rather than adding a larger sign and hoping everyone will see it.

Other Ways to Use Sparklers for Weddings
If you aren't big on the idea of using wedding sparklers as favors but you still want to use them during your wedding, why not set up a vase filled with sparklers at the entrance? Add some pretty ribbon to the vase and leave matchbooks nearby, and instruct your ushers to remind guests to pick up one of each as they leave, or add a note to your wedding program.

Regardless of how you incorporate wedding sparklers into your special day, be sure to follow safety protocols. Add buckets filled with water or sand so guests can safely deposit their hot but used sparklers, as they will burn right through a trash bag liner for up to 5 minutes after extinguishing. Sparklers are one of the most unique and memorable additions to your wedding and they're fun for everyone. Just make sure you buy sparklers for weddings, not the 4th of July, to avoid lots of smoke and ash!
